Dollar Tree Wedding Decorations: What to Buy, What to Skip and What 13 Tables Cost

The Dollar Tree wedding decorations worth buying are the plain glass pieces: cylinder vases from $1.75 to $3.00, rocks glasses and tealight holders at $1.25, and 5x7 frames at $1.25 for table numbers. With those, a 100-guest reception on 13 tables comes to about $155 for vases, candles, votives and table numbers, before flowers.

Not everything there is the cheapest option, though. Below is what we would put in the cart, what we would buy elsewhere, and how ordering online changes the maths. All prices were checked on dollartree.com and walmart.com on 31 October 2026. Dollar Tree notes that prices can vary by location, so check your store.

Why plain glass is the thing to buy

Clear glass looks the same whether it cost $1.25 or $12. Nobody at the table can tell a Dollar Tree cylinder from one bought at a party rental shop, especially once there's water, a candle or a few stems in it. Printed, glittery or themed items are different: they tend to look cheap up close, and they lock you into one look.

Here is the real price gap. Walmart sells a ready-made Glasseam set of three glass cylinders (6, 7.8 and 10 inches) for $17.09. At Dollar Tree you can build a similar trio from a 10.5-inch cylinder at $3.00, an 8.5-inch cylinder at $1.75 and a 4-inch rocks glass at $1.25, so $6.00 a table. Over 13 tables that's $78 instead of $222.17, which leaves $144.17 for flowers or something else entirely.

The trio is the base of our floating candle centerpieces, and the same glass works for flowers on a different day or at a different table.

The shopping list we would actually use

Item Dollar Tree price For 13 tables
10.5 in glass cylinder $3.00 each $39.00
8.5 in glass cylinder $1.75 each $22.75
4 in rocks glass $1.25 each $16.25
Glass tealight holders, 4-pack $1.25 a pack $16.25 (52 holders)
LED tealights, 3-pack $1.25 a pack $22.50 (18 packs, 54 lights)
5x7 wooden frame for table numbers $1.25 each $16.25
Floating candles buy at Walmart instead $21.52 (4 packs of 12)
Total $154.52, about $11.89 a table

That gives every table three glass cylinders with floating candles, four votives and a framed table number. The frames turn into numbers with our table numbers guide.

What's cheaper somewhere else

Floating candles. Dollar Tree sells them in packs of two for $1.25, so about 63 cents a candle. Walmart's Way To Celebrate 12-pack is $5.38, about 45 cents a candle. For 39 candles you'd pay $25.00 at Dollar Tree (20 packs) or $21.52 at Walmart (4 packs, with 9 spare). It's not a big gap, but there's no reason to pay more.

Fresh flowers. Buy those at a grocery store or warehouse club, close to the day. A small bunch of baby's breath at Walmart is $4.97, and our grocery store flowers guide shows how to pick bunches that last. Dollar Tree's own strength is the vase, not what goes in it.

Anything you'll see in photos up close. The bouquet, the cake and the sign at the entrance get photographed from a foot away. Spend a little more there and save on the 13 tables that people mostly see from across the room.

Ordering online: watch the case sizes

Dollar Tree's website sells most decor by the case, not by the piece. When we checked, the 10.5-inch cylinder came in cases of 12 ($36.00), the 8.5-inch cylinder in cases of 12 ($21.00), floating candles, tealight holders and 5x7 frames in cases of 24 ($30.00 each), glass dinner plates in 12s ($18.00) and lace ribbon in 18s ($31.50). Shipping takes 7 to 10 days, and in-store pickup is free.

That's fine when your count matches. It's not fine when you need 13 vases and the case holds 12, because a second case leaves you with 11 spares. In that case, order one case online and pick up the last one in a store.

Some things are store-only. The LED tealights and the ribbed 8.5-inch bud vase ($1.75) couldn't be shipped when we checked, so plan a store run and maybe a second store if the shelf is short. Start collecting three or four months ahead, because stock comes and goes.

Five more Dollar Tree buys that make sense

  • LED tealights. At $1.25 for three, they cost about 42 cents each. Many venues don't allow open flames, and these sit nicely in the $1.25 glass holders. They also fill our fairy light jars and lantern aisle decor, and our lighting article has more ideas.
  • Glass plates and taper holders. A 10.5-inch glass dinner plate is $1.50 and a 4-inch glass taper holder is $1.25. Together they're the starting point for a tiered dessert or cupcake stand.
  • Bud vases. The ribbed 8.5-inch bud vase at $1.75 holds one or two stems. Three of them in a row read as a centerpiece on narrow tables.
  • Lace ribbon. $1.75 for a roll of about 1.1 yards. Enough to wrap a couple of jars or vases, not to dress a whole table.
  • Frames for signs. The same $1.25 5x7 frames work for a bar menu, a hashtag sign or a "cards and gifts" note.

When Dollar Tree isn't worth it

  • When you'd need to rebuild the look. If a craft needs paint, glitter and glue to stop looking like a dollar item, the hours add up fast. Our DIY-or-buy breakdown shows which projects pay you back for your time.
  • When the venue already has it. Many venues include votives, cylinders or table number stands. Ask before you buy 52 tealight holders.
  • When you can borrow. Friends who married in the last few years often have boxes of glass in the garage. Free beats $1.25.

What this saves against the average wedding

The Knot's 2025 Real Weddings Study put the average US wedding at $33,000, with flowers alone at about $2,700 (Fox Business). The $154.52 list above won't replace a florist for the bouquet, but for 13 tables of candles and glass it covers what most couples actually need. For more ways to fill the tables, see our cheap centerpiece ideas, with costs per table for five different looks.

One last tip: buy one table's worth first, set it up at home with the lights low, and look at it. If it looks right, buy the rest. If it doesn't, you've spent about $12 finding out.
